Mojo 231

Sadly, I had the need for a sympathy card this week. My philosophy on death is not to mourn the loss of a loved one, but to celebrate that life and I wanted my card to reflect that.

Papers: DCWV Lemon Flower Matstack
Cricut Cartridges: Cindly Loo and George

Mojo 230

I love, love, love my Preserves cartridge and I use it all the time. It's definitely one of my favorites. I think this card turned out to be my best one yet.

Recipe:
Paper: DCWV Nana's Kitchen, Bazzill
Cart: Preserves
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper Fruit & Veggie Puns
Ink/Stickles: Ranger Distress Ink Barn Door/ Worn Lipstick

Alex's 13th B-Day Card

I can't believe my baby is 13. I wish I had a Cricut when my kids were younger, I could have done a lot of fund stuff with them! I still had fun making it, though and I just love the colors.

Mojo 226

I really liked this weeks sketch and it took me almost no time at all. Of course it probably helped that I had been mulling this card over in my head for a while because it's a Valentine for my husband. I just applied the colors and papers I had chosen to this weeks sketch, and voila!

The papers are all from My Minds Eye Union Square, the flower was from Petaloo, and I just printed up the quote from my computer on standard cream cardstock.

MOJO 224

So, I think the hardest (and longest) part of these challenges for me has been trying to choose just the right paper and color combinations. I'm always second guessing the choices I make because I want the card to be "just so". Also, I'm still new to all of this, so I'm trying to hone my techniques, building up my supplies, finding what I like and what I don't. Sometimes, it's hard for me to get the vision of what's in my head to come out on paper, because I think my cards look unfinished or plain. Doing these challenges is good though, "Challenging" me to just keep trying.

In any case here is my card for #224. The paper and flower was from a K and Company Kit, All Occasions. I cut the blue background flower from my Cindy Loo cartridge and the cream circle from George & Basic Shapes. I also used Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick (love this color) to ink the edges. "Love" was just printed up from my computer. Typically this isn't my style (color and paper), but the card isn't for me, it's a Valentines Day card for my Mama and it's perfect for her.

And here's the sketch:

MOJO 222 Challenge

My first Mojo Monday Challenge! One of my focus' this is year is to spend more time doing things are good for me, and papercrafting is good for me! This is a blank card I made for the challenge. When I have an event for it, I will stamp the appropriate sentiment on the luggage tag.* Updated picture: I ended up using this card for my Aunt's birthday, but I didn't have any cute birthday stamps so I just used some of the stickers from the Travelogue collection. I also changed some minor details, but I really liked how it turned out when I sent it to her.

Papers/Stickers: Graphic 45 Travelogue Collection
Flowers: Petaloo
Stickles: Barn Door
